1) There’s a belief you must be homeless or on benefits to receive our support.
This isn’t true.
Our three Trussell Trust foodbank centres in Doncaster, are there to support you and your family regardless of your household structure or income.
If you are in financial crisis, please talk to us on
07519 430980 / 07568 247288 or email [email protected]
2) Our foodbank centres are open 4 days a week (times and locations below) and we also host a variety of supporting agencies at each session who may be able to support you further, *BUT* you will need a referral voucher to exchange for food.
** Please DO NOT attend a centre without voucher as we do not issue vouchers on site**
Here is some information about how to access our service and when we are open
Tuesdays between 10am and 12pm at St Paul’s Church, Wheatley, DN2 4HN
Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am and 12pm at St James Church, Hexthorpe, DN1 3AQ
Thursdays between 10am and 12pm at the Holmescarr Centre, Rossington, DN11 0LP
To access our emergency foodbank service, you will need a referral voucher from a supporting agency who has assessed your needs to see how they can help best.
3) We work with over 100 community partners in Doncaster who are registered to issue vouchers via our referral database. You can request a voucher from any of these if they are registered
Any supporting agency staff who you may already be in contact with such as health visitor, social worker, stronger communities officer, GP, housing association landlord, school safeguarding officer, council services, NHS services, mental health services, addiction support services, and more…
If you don’t have any of the above you are in touch with already, don’t panic!
Here are details of other organisations which may be able to help:
Help Through Hardship – 0808 208 2138 (freephone but there may be a queue).
Local Citizens Advice – 01302 243057
You can also contact the Council Wellbeing Team for further support and possibly a food voucher on 01302 735553
You can also go to the walk-in at the Civic Office in Doncaster to get a voucher if you are able to take some ID and information about what you are struggling with currently. The location is: One Stop Shop, Doncaster Council, Civic Office, Waterdale.
4) Please remember to take ID with you! You will need to show this to the admin staff when you present your voucher
Please also be prepared to evidence your household structure/cause of crisis if asked – this isn’t always needed but it’s good to be prepared and have as much info as you can available so that if someone on site is available to help further, the info is already to hand
Sometimes there can be a queue. Our centres can get very busy (we’ve fed over 8,500 people in the past 12 months!) But our volunteers will try their very best to keep things moving, welcome you with a drink and snack while you’re waiting and work to provide the best service possible with the resources we have.
Thank you for your patience and for trusting us to help
