Donating Food to Doncaster Foodbank

31st March 2020

During the Coronavirus pandemic you may be wondering how you can donate food to our foodbank, so here is some information to help you do that.

Essential food items we distribute on a regular basis includes: Rice, Pasta, Instant Mash, Pasta Sauces, Cooking Sauces, Tinned Meat/fish/veg/tomatoes/rice pudding/fruit, long life UHT milk, soup, biscuits, snacks, jam, nappies, essential toiletries (e.g. shower gel, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrushes), toilet rolls, sanitary and shaving products, wash powder and washing up liquid. We also accept dog and cat food. We have plenty of beans!

Food must be in date, unopened and unused.

Please note that our foodbank centre at Christ Church is now closed to the public.

Please deliver all food donations to our Warehouse on a Tuesday between 9am and 12 noon. We are closed at all other days and times. The warehouse is based within the premises of Saica Natur, Sandall Stones Road, Kirk Sandall, Doncaster, DN3 1TR – access is at the rear of the building.

As you turn into the main gate at Saica Natur, turn immediately right and follow the fence line down to the back of the building and you can pull up outside the back door to unload. Please if you can, please put a note in the bags with the name of the organisation or person donating the food, or you can put ‘anonymous’ if you prefer.

Please ring the doorbell and wait for one of the volunteers to come to the door then move away, observing the 2 metre distance rule. They will take the donation from there. Please DO NOT leave anything when we are not open or if nobody asnwers the back door. Saica do not allow donations to be left anywhere else on their premises so please do not pressure the staff to take it.

We thank you so much for your crucial donations which will help to feed someone who might otherwise go hungry. We feed over 5000 people a year so as you can imagine, that means we are reliant on your generous food donations. Doncaster Foodbank is a small, registered local charity, and is not funded by the Council or the Government in any way, therefore, we are grateful for all food donations made to our foodbank.

Big Thanks & Best Wishes from the Doncaster Foodbank Team!
