During these uncertain times, we wish to let you know that Doncaster Foodbank continues to provide its service to those who truly need it.
Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, we have had to close our Rossington food bank centre until further notice, and given our Bentley food bank centre had closed in early March, that means we are now only operating from our main foodbank centre at Christ Church in Doncaster town centre.
For the time being, we have had to cease our full service where foodbank customers are invited in for a cuppa and a chat while they wait for the food parcel to be packed, and instead, hand our food parcels at the main front door. These is so we can all remain safe and observe the government’s social distancing rules.
Anyone wanting a food bank voucher does need to be referred by one of our referral agencies. If you are not already receiving the support of one of our referral agencies, then we would ask you to ring Doncaster Council on 01302 736000 and ask for the One Stop Shop Customer Services to request a foodbank voucher.
If you are affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, we also encourage you to contact the new Doncaster Community Hub on 01302 430300. They can tell you what help is available to someone in your specific circumstances.
We ask that when visiting our food bank centre, please respectfully observe the 2 metre distance rule at all times.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation at this difficult time.
Stay Safe and Best Wishes,
The Doncaster Foodbank Team
